In this case, we speak directly of DELANEY HALL NJ 07105”.- Letter No. 1

“We deserve to be free and to complete the process at home with our families, given the excessive amount of time we have spent in this prison.
We could be released, even if it means being under supervision, required to report regularly, or wearing an ankle monitor. The conditions in this prison are not fit for human beings over such a long period of time: medical neglect, water unfit for consumption, food that is past its expiration date and in poor condition, bathrooms that are unusable, and ventilation systems that have never been maintained and because of this, we are constantly sick.”- Letter No. 4

Delaney Hall, one of the large growing numbers of private prisons, is one of the numerous ways that the state has created a loophole to violate, exploit, and abuse those who are displaced by imperialism and left most vulnerable, as it once again turns its violence towards those who, in many cases, it has driven to migration through imperial violence elsewhere, in the pattern of its brutal structural foundation. Amongst deplorable conditions, detainees are forced to deprive themselves of basic needs out of desperation to try to bring attention to their struggles and condition. We stand in solidarity with those held captive within these detention facilities, who have been part of exposing the facade of “legality” and “human rights” which have been too long used as a ruse to lure the most exploited and displaced by empire to bring them into the US so that they can be ensnared, dehumanized, and exploited for their labor, taking full advantage of their apparent lack of “citizenship” status.
As we know, this is not new, and the US has functioned this way from its origins; this is simply a current iteration of how it sustains itself, to live off the land and labor of the most exploited while withholding access to the benefit of it and offering only the barest of crumbs. Human trafficking has been foundational and continues today; slavery has been a continued and essential part of the US infrastructure, and the prison industrial complex allows the US to exploit the most marginalized within its domestic borders.

In the case of Delaney Hall, the New Jersey governor recently implemented a “Free Speech Zone” which was created to claim that there is a specific zone where protests can happen and they are using this act as a way to justify police brutality and fascism onto protestors, bringing in the police departments of New Jersey and ICE officers together. The “United States” avoids meeting the demands of the people on strike; they avoid listening to protesters and continue their abuses within the prison because of how necessary the facility is, along with many others around the country, to exploit immigrants that have been held captive within these facilities by using them as free labor and forcing them to receive harsh treatment. It is urgent that we support those who are on strike and join those in the street that are demanding that these acts of slavery and violence towards working class protesters and immigration to stop it.

The imperial violence of the state, founded on stolen land, chattel slavery, and genocide, continues to dehumanize those it seeks to exploit, but its thriving is short-lived. There is no reforming this. We call on comrades to join in solidarity and struggle wherever possible to free all captives of the state and close detention centers. If you have the means, support families of ICE kidnappings through fundraisers and material support such as https://food4nj.org/ as we commit to the resilience of the most oppressed by Empire.

Peoples Revolutionary Party stands in unwavering solidarity with the detainees of Delaney Hall during their hunger strike, as well as all who are held captive by the state.
